The greatest challenge with this artwork was recreating the painterly red energy emitting from the swords, I initially approached this using animated stroke paths in After Effects, when this did not work to my satisfaction I explored hand drawing the animation using ProCreate Dreams, again this did not produce and effect I was happy with. I eventually managed to recreate the look using multiple variations and layers of animated fractal noise in After Effects.
